Navalshore 2025: Latin America's largest maritime fair expands its structure and opportunities
From August 19th to 21st, Rio de Janeiro will once again host Navalshore 2025, the largest maritime industry fair in Latin America. With significant growth in infrastructure and number of exhibitors, this year's edition highlights the new cycle of investment in the naval sector, estimated at over R$30 billion, attracting national and international players.
Technical and economic aspects of Navalshore 2025 for the Brazilian shipbuilding industry
Navalshore 2025 will feature an expanded exhibition area from 6 to 10 square meters, an increase of almost 70% compared to the previous edition. The number of exhibitors has increased from 110 to 136 companies, representing more than 400 national and international brands. These figures directly reflect the new investment cycle in the Brazilian naval industry, driven by record contributions from the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM) in 2024 and 2025.
The organizers expect the fair to generate approximately R$12 billion in business, considering initiated contracts, established commercial partnerships, and connections between suppliers, shipowners, shipyards, and industry institutions. The participation of major companies such as Transpetro, WEG, Kongsberg, Estaleiro Mac Laren, and the American Bureau of Shipping reinforces the event's economic importance for the naval and offshore supply chain.
Strategic importance of Navalshore 2025 for the maritime defense and national security sector
More than a showcase for commercial solutions, Navalshore 2025 plays a strategic role in connecting the civil shipbuilding industry with Brazil's maritime defense sector. National shipyards, technology companies, shipowners, and representatives of the Brazilian Navy will be present, discussing crucial topics such as information security, technological innovation, and strengthening the defense industrial base.
With the growth in the capacity of the Brazilian naval industry, the possibilities for logistical support for military operations and missions to protect national maritime sovereignty are also expanding, especially in sensitive areas such as the Blue Amazon.
History and evolution of Navalshore throughout the editions
Founded nearly two decades ago, Navalshore has established itself as the leading event for the shipping industry in Latin America. Since its inception, the event has grown in size, relevance, and business-generating capacity, keeping pace with the growth of the Brazilian maritime industry.
In 2024, the fair welcomed more than 11.500 visitors. By 2025, the expected attendance is to exceed 15 professionals, including engineers, decision-makers, technicians, and institutional representatives from across Brazil and strategic markets such as Europe and Asia. This continued growth reinforces Navalshore's role as a crucial platform for promoting innovation, industrial cooperation, and economic development in the Brazilian maritime sector.
