The 15th edition of Marintec South America, the main event in South America dedicated to the shipbuilding, maintenance and operations sectors, will feature the Senai Mobile Underwater Robotics School, a separate attraction for visitors to the fair that begins this Tuesday, the 14th, and continues until Thursday, the 16th, at the SulAmerica Exhibition Center, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The SENAI mobile unit is a trailer that houses a 25-liter water tank that reproduces the conditions of marine life for practical classes, a bench with video for operating the robots via remote control, and a classroom with capacity for 12 students. During Marintec South America, guided tours by a SENAI instructor will be offered to see the inside of the unit and see in practice how an underwater robot operates. In addition, there will be one-hour mini-courses on the “Basic Operation Concepts” of underwater robots.
Visitors will be able to see the Teledyne SeaBotix LBV300-5 ROV robot, used for underwater inspections, such as ship hulls. Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) technology is widely used in the offshore and military markets, as it offers safety in operations involving risks of contaminated water, low temperatures and visibility, in addition to reducing operating costs.
The attraction that will be on display at Marintec South America is brought to you by Teledyne Seabotix, the manufacturer of the underwater robot, and Gyromarsat, the distributor of the equipment in Brazil. Gyromarsat is one of the exhibiting companies at the fair, which will showcase a complete line of underwater robotic vehicles.
